STRANGE: tappets or shim buckets problems
Just pulled the head on an 83 KZ750 H4 and almost every one of the shim buckets was extremely difficult to pull out of their bores and they go back in the same way. If I try one of the loose fittings buckets in another bore there is no problem. Has anyone here ever seen or heard of this problem and why did this happen? I'm ordering new buckets to replace the ones that are too tight but I'd sure like to know what caused this problem.

lol...ya, I was curious also Ted.
I was thinking blow back from valveseat, causing carbon buildup maybe...Wrong weight oil/too long change interval/etc causing oil breakdown and crystalizing causing a buildup in the bucket/pocket.
If he was going to take the time to mic, prob out of round, then have him do a quick sandpaper job, and remic.
If the cams were wiggling around, would they cause this?
