Default Starter Clutch: '81 KZ 750 LTD (4 cyl)

I'm trying to remove the starter clutch from the crankcase
How do I disengage it so I can slip it off the secondary shaft?

Thought I'd let you know. I gave it another shot this morning and the secondary shaft came out. The starter clutch fits onto the secondary shaft very tightly so I used a long metal bar with a blunt end. Placed it against the left side of the shaft and kept tapping away until - eventually it came out the right side of the bike
Here are some pix I put on Picasa:

One of the springs in the starter clutch seems to be shot which, hopefully is why the bike was only making a rattling sound when I pushed the start button, and not catching

Thanks for the help!

Here are some pix of the starter clutch
One of the springs was broken
Amazing a little thing like this could wreak so much havoc!

Now - to put it all back together and see if it works!

I fixed the starter clutch and but her back in
and - - it works!!
Started right up!!
One hitch though

Before I repaired the starter clutch it would not start at all - just the "rattling" noise when I pushed the start button

I still get the rattle but infrequently
My guess is - it'll get worse if I don't do something about it

Sounds like I'm shaking gravel in a coffee can

Something else is going on and I haven't got a clue - - -

Any thoughts?
