start up issues

Default start up issues

I have a 1985 zn1100 ive rebuilt the carbs twice with a fine tooth comb and the darn thing still wont start w/o starting fluid it runs there after but if you let it sit for 20 mins your right back where you started. anyone have any suggestions? and whats these two hoses that come from the gastank?

Not sure on the two hoses, but you should not have to use starter fluid at all. I agree. You sure you have the pilot jets and floats adjusted and cleaned?

You have the main fuel line, and a vacuum line going from/to your tank. If there is very little or no vacuum present, the diaphragm on the petcock valve won't open to allow fuel to flow from the tank. Make sure there is no vacuum leaks on that line.
