I have never heard of stalling doing anything bad for the motor. I have heard of people being extra cautious not to stall, and letting out the clutch really slow, thefore shortening the clutch life. Just keep practicing and youl get better. Did you ever drive a manual transmission car before owning a bike?

Default RE: Stalling a bike Question

Hello, I just bought the yellow 500 ninja-2007. I sometimes forgot to go down to first at a stop sign, so I was trying to take off in second, so I ended up stalling the motor. So now I pull in the clutch when I'm coming up to a stop sign or light and go down to first. Then I don't stall the bike when I take off.
