Default SPRAY PAINT JOB

what's the best base coat/clear coat you can get in a can? i used dupli-color for the base coat and it's perfect. but it seems like their clear coat doesn't have any hardener in it cause it's easy to scratch. any body know a clear coat in a can that can harden really good?

that looks like it's for metal and aluminum. will it work for plastics and fiberglass?

doesn't matter if its for metal or plasti conly matters if its compatible with the paint you already put on there. no mater what clear you buy. always test it on a sample of the color paint you sprayed.. incompatible clears will bubble up the paint underneith

the second link is for overtop of paint. should be compatible but still test it first.

duplicolor is the bomb. the bike in my sig is rattlecanned with duplicolor DSM340 Royal Blue.

BUT!!!!!!

spraypaint is a "single-stage" paint. the clear is already incorporated in the mix. theres no need to really clear coat a spray bomb job.. wetsand it to 2000 and buff, and it'll look like a professional, HVLP job.

you CAN clear it tho.. i don't want ya to think you can't..lol

i'd just do a multi-layer spray of the same brand or clear.. maybe try to stick with the same batch numbers and all as the paint that was applied..

i'm NOOOOOOO paint and body man tho, so i invite someone with more knowledge on this to chime in.. i'll just back up kohburn as well..lol
