sitting for a year

RE: sitting for a year
Drain gas and oil, replace with fresh. Leave battery on a long, slow charge; not the "quick start" zap! Pull the plugs and putseveral drops of oil in each cylinder. (I would change the plugs while I had it that far, but probably not necessary.) With bike on rear stand, give the chain a good cleaning and a light coat of preferred chain lube. Check tire pressures. Once started, let it run until warm before putting load on the engine, just to make sure fluids have successfully returned to their designated pathways. Check coolant level and overflow. Once warmed up, check for leaks. Should be good to go.

Nice info jeff.
Clean the ground connection at the same time. I would prolly flush the coolant passages prior to changing as well. Also, 1 yr on fuel metering systems plays hell, so ya may want to clean carbs or system as well.
