safe to start motorcycle after lowside crash?
Hello,
I had a lowside crash on my 2009 ninja250 going about 30 mph in a turn. There was some gasoline spilled on the street, but now that my bike has been in my garage, there's only been a tiny bit of leaking directly under the bike after about a week of being there.
I'm going to take it to a repair shop, but I'm wondering if it's safe to turn it on and let it run, because when my road rash heals, I may ride it to the shop instead of paying to get it towed. Just looking at the bike, it looks like just part of the body is cracked and scraped, but with the gas spilling, who knows if something else that I can't see is damaged, and so I don't know if its safe to turn on the engine.
Does anyone have any insight/suggestions? Thanks!

After a week of sitting, I would try to start that thing.
If anything, a fuel bowl got stuck after the crash so check your oil level as well. If it is over full, a float got stuck open allowing fuel to enter the crankcase and fill a cylinder. So check that first.
Bummer on the low side, but sounds like you are ok. Gearing up better may be the next thing to do.
