Angry Random Engine Cutouts - 800 Vulcan Classic(2003)

I have a 2003 800 Vulcan Classic that at random times going at speed ranges from 20-60 mph will experience a complete dying of the engine. After I coast to a stop, rest the bike for a couple of minutes, it will start-up fine. I continue down the road and it may or may not happen again. It is very unpredictable. The electrical system has been checked by a good bike mechanic with no problems seen. Does anyone have any idea what may be causing it? Thanks....Steve

If it's not electrical, it could be fuel system related. How long does the bike run (consistent/inconsistent?) before stopping?
Welcome to the forums, sb. Give us as many details as possible.

Not sure, but how are the plugs, wires and caps? Not trying to second guess your qualified mechanic either. Any oil changes recently? Air filter is clean? All boots/Orings good?
Throttle body tight? Any smog stuff? Air switching valve ok? Do not forget about the famous side stand switch. lol Good luck and welcome to KF.
