random dieing
i have a 03 zx636 and sometimes when i am riding and/or sitting it just randomly dies and all the power shuts off. and when it shuts off it resets the clock and trip odometer. i think it is a bad ground but i dont know where. so i was wondering where to start cause i checked all of the battery connections and they are good and i just baught the battery about a month ago so i know it is good. i dont know if it would matter or not but justa a fyi it has been lowered 2 inchs

well, the (main)ground is pretty short on that machine.. have your tried getting a code off the gauge? i'd hafta look it up on how to do it.. your manual should tell ya how to access the trouble codes.. i think it'll flash the shift light in sequence to signal a numeric code when summoned.. then, take this code and decipher it withthe manual and go from there..
it its a COMPLETE power loss, it may not be a ground tho...a gorund will certainly do it, but of course, losing your postive feed will also render you powerless.. could be something stupid like the main fuse being loose or something of that nature..
do some troubleshooting .. check all your negative teminations, and meter out all the wires you can.. look for a high resistance to ground if it actually goes TO a ground.. that'll point to a bad temination..
if you can get the bike to die and you have it all ripped apart, meter (or test light) from the battery on out to the fuses and whatever else you can..where the power stops, theres your intermittent fault.
