race header for 07 zzr 600
#2
hmm, there is no such thing as a "race header". But,,,,Ti tends to fracture and that is why SS is normally good for headers (A thermal and shock thing that I have witnessed and read about). Ti is good from the headers on back to the muffler. Inconel headers from Beet Nassert are the ones I am trying right now for the 10r. Spendy bastids but are working as well.
Each ride will need to be tuned to incorporate the usage of the altered flow of the headers, basically the full system to gain a fraction of the power expected. So plan on spending some time/money with your ride. The Neverending Story rings true right now.
What have you found so far that impresses you so far?

Something to consider, too, is what kind of "racing" you're going to do. If you're a straight line guy, you probably will want larger diameter headpipes back to the can; you're seeking exhaust flow in a major way, from high revs. If you're a curvy track guy, you need a wider spectrum of "tune" so you'll want (imagine) an exhaust which (yes) moves the air, but in proportion to the amount of flow the engine is putting-out. From the intake to the exhaust tip, it's a balancing act of air flow, spark, and fuel delivery. Positively no offense intended; it's more than just bolting on some headers. Drag is right^; (to paraphrase) the TUNING is the thing. It's a package deal.
