Welcome.

Check that your fuel petcock valve on the gas tank is allowing gas to flow when vacuum is created as the engine turns over.

Make sure the vent hole (very small) in the gas cap will let air get to the tank. Otherwise you create a vacuum and no gas will flow.
If you disconnect the fuel line (after the filter;at the carb) and turn on the petcock, will gas flow out? (5 minutes) is about how long it takes to "run out" of gas from your fuel line.
Just wondering....

If it is the petcock you can buy a rebuild kit
You'll replace the rubber gasket that's about the size of a postage stamp
Make sure the two surfaces that meet up with either side of this gasket are perfectly flat
If they're not -- file them down a bit
If any air can get into this seal it'll interfere with the flow of gas through the petcock

I like the beer thirty, but

question? So you are saying the the seal is insufficient for long term use?
