question about valves for 95 zx-9r

Default question about valves for 95 zx-9r

took the bike in today for a flush and new front tire. tech mentioned someting about valve adjustment around 35 to 40 thousand miles? true or not true?

True! Valves are the most important part of the head.Your head makes all your horsepower.If your valves are too loose you could be losing power.And if there too tight you could be wiping oil off your cam lobes.

damm straight. i did my 94 900 at 20g just to be safe.

I check valve clearances around 1k miles. More for my well being and comfort level. Remember that manufacturing processes have a plus or minus tolerance. I adjusted my 7 after 700 miles on it. 4 shims were off by a small amount. But that is just me possibly. I re check them every season also.
