Problem Help Please.
Alright, today i was out riding and when i started my bike, i hear a faint rattling sound coming from the engine, figured it was just warming up, so i start going, get all the way up to 6th going about 80 and about 30 seconds into 6th my bike gives out, throttle shuts off, but lights still work and everything, so not the battery, come to a stop and try to asses the problem and i'm leaking oil, i got off but couldn't tell where it was coming from, all the oil drained out, got a trailor and hauled it back to storage. its a 95 zx-6r with 39K miles on it, i really think that i broke the tranny, cause as soon as it gave out, the clicking noise stopped, so soemthing came loose and then broke off. It won't shift into 2nd either.
anyone have this happen, or know what the problem could be?

ouch! First thing I would do is figure out where the leak sprung from and try to find out what caused it. There's really only a few places it could've came from and none of them are good. Unfortunately, you MAY need to take it to the stealership to get a full assessment on the damage....sorry man.

RE: Problem Help Please.
how loud was the knock?
sounds like you threw a rod thru the case, brotha..
faint usually is just valves.. but something catastrophic sounds like it happened..
the bikes don't go into second with out moving. theres a positive neutral finder in the trans that is centrifugally activated. no spin... no second gear (from a stop.)
the trannies really don't blow up on these things, so i'll hafta assume a rod. get a godd look at where the leak ins coming from, and if ya can, get some carnage pics and post them for me to gawk at and give ya an answer..
good luck, and welcome to KF man!
