Default pilotjet

What exactly does the piolet jet do? I took them out and could hardly blow through them so I took a torch tip cleaner and kept working it until i got it through I thought it was just clogged or varnish buildup but each one was the same so I did the same thing to each one could I have made the hole to big? And if so could this cause a problem its on my 1980 kz1000 not my ZRX1200 it just snowed again so I havent put it back together yet but I got new intake boots new battery new air filters cleaned carbs all I need is warm weather now please let me know if you have any ideas on this if its ok or what could happen if the opening is to big you can see same dia. hole all the way through

They are in the idle and low speed circuit. Hopefully you did not make the holes too big!

You are the one who would really know if you oversized the bores or not. But you will find it hard to fine tune the carbs properly if you do not have a good foundation.
