What kind of filter did you use? Maybe the flow is being interrupted by the anti-drain back valve in the filter or the flow holes are not as spec???
(the bulb oughtta burn out before your next change.....no worries!!)

No real update because it's been too cold for me to go out and want to play with the bike the past few days and there is no heat in the garage. But I'll check on it again this weekend.

But to answer the few questions that have been asked.

I think the sender light is working properly. When I disconnect the wire the light goes off. when I ground the wire out it comes on. The sender unit also appears to be working as described above.

I have thought about the Oil Filter also but it's the one that was listed in the catalog and it's the same make and # as the one I took off. So I don't think it's the wrong one but that does not mean it can't be defective. It's probably one of the things I'm going to try and check after I try a few other things first.

I have only had the bike for a little over a week and it's the first one I've owned in over 15 years. So I'm not too familiar with the engine noise yet. But it seemed like it was not much worse then before the change and oil light issues. So I don't think it's totally starving for oil. But I'm not overly eager to test it. It's definitely not knocking it just has valve clatter which it had before and with 25k miles is probably not uncommon.

Ok I got it fixed finally.

I had to use the burping proceedure that was talked about in another thread. But It took a long time for it to work.

There seemed to be a lot of air in the system. I would start the bike and let it idle then unscrew the oil filter until oil started coming out around the seal and let it run in a clean bowl. I could see lots of air bubbles comming out and the occational burp of air. Once I ran about a quart or so though I would cut the bike off and dump it back in on the other side. After doing this about 4 times the oil light finally blinked off.
