yessir.. you can ground the black lead of your tester to the frame, and go right to the gray wire. it'll show 6 volts as soon as the key switch is turned to the "on" postion.

i usually go to the back side of the connector just to make sure i'm on the right wire, instead of eyeing it up and counting the rows of connectors to get the right slot.. besides, my leads won't fit in the little tiny slotson the plug-side anyway.. so thats almost a must do..

but yeah, just confirm that the gray wire terminates at thekeyswitch, and that it does indeed carry 6 volts to the ECU or CDI or whatever ya wanna call it..

if youDO absolutely have 6 v at the plug, then confirm a solid ground and 12 V feed.

the CDI signals and starter signal are separate.. the computer can be unplugged, fried, whatever, and the bike will still crank. the only tie between the signals persay is at the fuel pump relay.. but even then the signals don't actually meet.. the starterbutton jumps 12 V to the relay to run the pump on startup. once the motor fires up, the ignition signal is effectiveby the time you let off the button, and this signal is what runs the relay and pump.

i just keep thinkin it's gotta be something simple and all..wow.. just ship it to me. i'll fix it for ya. lol

i'd do it for free by now just because i feel for ya, brother.. it's not fair! ..lol

but yeah man.. not a problem at all helpin ya man.. thats what i'mhere for.
