Default Newbie Wants Advice On ZXR 750 L2

Hello

Im new to the forum and was wondering wether any one could help me out with a few tech questions on my ZXR 750 L2 "M" Reg 1994

a) She has a 190 50 17" rear tyre but is supposed to have a 180 55 17" tyre what do people recommend as to size and make of tyre for the rear ??? Please bear in mind the bike is used for Weekend rides out (No Track Days) and i want to replace the Front & Rear as a pair.

b) What Ratio Front and Rear Sprockets do people recommend as i want to gear her slightly down to gain a slightly better take off and what make and where do you reccomend to get a chain and sprocket kit from ???

c) What sort of a job is it to do the Valve Shims and Cam Chain and Tensioners as she is slightly tappety but it has'nt got worse since ive had her and she now has 25K on the clock so i reckon she is well over due the job. Im a qualified Diesel mechanic so what sort of a job is it to do ??? Or do you reccomend taking to a pro either as a Foriegner or to a Dealer etc etc I live in the North Wales Area not Far From Chester

d) What brakes do you reccommend ??? The disc's are OK just want new pad's etc etc

e) Any thing else i should be looking at with her as she has only had 3 owners from new and is in really good condition with full service history and all MOT's and Recipets from new ?????

I have put a new EBC clutch kit with springs in her and a full Braided brake and clutch line kit on her with new DOT 5 fluid and given her a full service thus the questions above LOL !!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to KF! Congrats on the ride

I would be curious to use the 190/55 series tire on the rear. The 190/50 series, made me drop the front end for better steering.

You are a mechanic, you may have the tools and the know how to follow a manual on the shims and adjustment.

I am not sold on aftermarket clutch kits, oem has proven itself to me.

enjoy
