New Tires

Who's doing the install? If you're doing the install, go online. If you're having someone else (shop, etc.) do the install, buy them there and push for a deal.
Prices online depend on the tires you're looking at. I wouldn't spend big bucks on latest techno rubber for an LTD (no offense; you just don't need it) but would go for mileage.
On the older bikes, techno tires will get you into trouble because the frame geometry can't keep up.

thnkx again Jeffz-I will install them myself- I was looking @ the Cheng Shin Barraccudas(not the high speed rating)- with a low power older bike I considered them due to low cost & decent mileage from American Motorcycle Tire. This is my first street bike & any suggestions on tips or references for mounting the tires?

Ehhhh, I'd go with something just a bit higher than Cheng Shin. I'd stick with a Dunlop, Bridgestone, Metzeler, Pirelli; one of the regular brands. Nothing against Cheng Shin, (I had some of their knobbies on my mini bike), but I think the rubber in the name brands is a bit more reliable. (I may just be used to the name brands. Just a bit more reassuring at 55mph.) IMHO
