new to the site and looking for a little help.
Just got a used 2000 zx9r and it stutters and all kinds of crap in mid-range, evreything is fine taking off and that but once I hit mid-range speeds in 5th gear it wants to start acting like it's not getting enough fuel or wants to cut out but if i holld the throttle it will sputter and then take off after a little bucking (or whatever you want to call it!). Am really frustrated here and am ready to beat the guy I got it from. please help.
Thanks so much.

Welcome to KF
You are probably correct in your fuel delivery sus_pici_ons. I would toss on your synch gauges if you know that your carbs are already clear, the fuel filter or screen is clear and no pinched lines were noted on your initial preliminary inspections.
Also check your battery status. A loose connection or a poor battery can cause mid and high rpm cut outs.

Sorry to hop on someone elses thread with my problem. im new to the site and do not know how to create a post. Im fairly new to bikes so keep that in mind. I inherited a 98 zx9r from a relative and its running rough. at idle it sounds alright but when driving through the rpm range it cuts out. doesnt matter what gear it still does it. if u pin the throttle it surges all way through the rpms. like its fighting for more fuel. after i slow down toa stoplight the engine stalls out on me but after a second it will start right back up. Im hoping for an easy fix but it probably wont be. any advice ?
