New to the KLX, so a bum saving question...
Guys, this is my first post here. I currently have 2 KLR 650 bikes (one is the wife's). She has finally decided she'd like something smaller, easier to handle and we've settled on a KLX250s. The one we are spying is a 2006. I read over and over that the seat is terrible, and I'm trying to see what my options are. I see Corbin makes a seat for the later models, but does anyone know if 1) the 2009-20012 seat will fit on a 2006? if so, problem solved (although a bit of $$ required). 2) are there any better options to prolong the amount of time one can ride without getting that "lovin feelin" from the seat?
Thanks in advance, and I hope to be tapping into your knowledge as we make the transition to a different bike.
And since I'm hitting you guys for answers on my first post, I'll include the little bit of bio questions you like to see.

Yes, I did see some references to changes but most seem to apply to the 09 and up. There really doesn't seem to be a lot out there for 06-08. That being said, maybe I'll stumble on info gold. I've only spent a couple hours searching and Lord knows there's a lot to sift through on these interwebz.
Thanks for the welcome folks!

I picked up a GUTS RACING tall seat for my 06 and really like it. Foam and new cover included. They also have some that aren't tall. Also recently stumbled across this site: DIYMotorcycleSeat.com - Home Page
If you don't want a DIY, find a good upholstery shop and they can fix that 2x4 called a seat.

Welcome to the forums. Yeah the seat on this bike is barely better than a 2x4, I gotta say the wife's XT 225 seat is waaaay better than this one. Is your wife tall? cause the KLX seat height is the same or close to the KLR. I thought someone made a better seat. Someone on here should know or have tried something.

I have a 2007 and just had "Seat Concepts.com" redo my stock seat pan. It looks and feels like a Sargent or Corbin. I sent my pan to them and they did it for me. You can also buy the kit and do it yourself.
