NEED HELP Performance Bogging down

NEED HELP Performance Bogging down
I have a ZX 750 Ninja 1989 F-3 that keeps boggin down. I put some seafom in it last week because I notice a little rust in the tank. I had no problems with it bogging down before I put the seafom in. When I first takeoff riding, it will run fine, but after a couple of minutes it will start bogging down. It will bog down for a couple of seconds, then it will take off, then it will bog down again. I took off the tank and look at the inline filter. It had a few brown flakes in it. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Jeff

RE: NEED HELP Performance Bogging down
I would say the problem is likely in your jets, or idle air needles. You would be lucky if the seafoam would clear it up. I say check anything on the outside first such as vacuum lines or intake boots for tears or leaks. If all looks good, take the carbs apart and clean them out by hand.

RE: NEED HELP Performance Bogging down
did you put the seafoam in the gas tank? or feed it in through a vacuum line?
seafoam through a vac line will make your engine want to stall untill its all cleared up then its back to normal or better.
seafoam in the gas tank can cause bogging if the concentration is too strong. it can also strip the gunk off the tank wals and feed it into the engine. I recommend swishing the tank around and dumping it. refilling with pure clean gasoline and flushing the carb out.
if you want try running the seafoam through a vac line to clean out the carb and engine.
since the problem started after you added seafoam and it sounds like you put it int he gas tank, i suspect that is the problem.

A few brown flakes in the filter as you mentioned means that you still have crap in the tank.
Can you imagine what the float bowl or low speed circuits look like? Do a synch after cleaning.
