Default Need carb help

I need help on my 1980 KZ650E. I bought this bike after it had been sitting for years. Only has 3964 miles. I had the carbs rebuilt, new points, plugs, condensor, pet **** rebuilt, and a new battery. The starter checks out as well.

Got it home yesterday from the shop...will only kick start and won't stay running. I can ride it some but it back fires and dies when I slow down to turn.

Great looking ride bro. Get a spray bottle and mist the headers when its warmed up, make sure its firing on all cylinders. If thats all good you may need to check your mechanics work yourself to ensure the carbs were done right and the proper jets are installed. If you have anymore info it might help.

Welcome to KF!

Readjusted the points and checked the plugs. Runs good now...BUT plugs 1, 3, 4 are fine but 2 looks brand new. Getting fire to it and compression. Will try to change out plug 2 and see if the bike runs even better.

Thanks for all fo the advice.

Sorry to ask..how do I check to make sure it's getting fuel? The lines are solid black. Also cylinder 2 is where my accelerator pump is.

as mentioned above, generally misting and the plug check are good checks. If you check the bowl drain plug fuel flow and have that, then that will isolate the carb as the culprit since your plug is clean and you have verified spark.
