After not starting my bike for two weeks, stored outside under a bike cover in freezing weather, The motor cranked and cranked back fired, started for five seconds, then shut off. All the sudden almost a quarter gallon of fuel came pouring out under my bike. I of course turned the key off then proceeded to dismantle the tank and panels. Once I had the air box open I tried to start again. Same thing happened after it turned over and over for about seven seconds Brown bubbly fuel started pukeing out of this hole above the carb intakes. I am puzzled what did I do wrong lol.

I would be curious to know if a float and seat in the carb/carbs stuck, loading up the crankcase with fuel. that brown bubbley is crankcase fluid I do believe. I do not have the manual in front of me however to confirm that orifice. check your oil window. Are you over full now and at what color?

that is the crankcase breather tube, runs to a baffle assembly over the gearbox...(inside the motor)

the baffle is a separator to vent crankcase pressure off, effectively being a PCV. there should be a reed valve in there as well..

uhh.. if you got sh*t comin out of there bro, try what drag said and gauge your fuel and float levels... DO NOT run that bike if theres even a little bit of gas in the oil! i knowsomeone thathad a carburated car (badly tuned) and ballooned the valve cover, oil pan, and shot the dipstick across the garage when the gas went off!!

you should be able to pull a plug and tell which cylinder is running rich by the plug color.. remedy the flood be servicing the offending carb.

keep us posted, and welcome to KF bro!!

Is there a possibility that fuel is leaking down into the crankcase somehow? it smelled just like gas not oil. I am going to have the carbs and floats cleaned before i get the bike back together. and a good ole oil change to boot. thanks for the help. and for the warm welcome too!

if the float valve isn't sealing and you aren't shutting off the fuel petcock when its not running then fuel will overflow the carbs and run down cylinders washing the oil off the walls and then running down into the crankcase.

Clean the carbs up. Change oil and filter. Run the bike for circulation, then change the oil and filter again.

I am indeed An idiot, or atleast an uneducated person. Let this be a lesson to all those who don't turn the petcock from on to off when your bike is not running.

To my amazment When I removed the gas tank, which was full of gas two weeks ago. I emptied out only 3.35 Gallons. So you may ask where was the other 1.25 Gallons?!? lets refer to the chart!

You will notice the fourth oil level view window is Dark Dark really dark Brown and Full of oil and gasoline. That is what you will get if you don't maintain you bike properly. Lesson LEARNED!

PS: Gasoline makes me dizzy!
