Mystery red wire with a fuse in it

actually, figuring out why a 10 amp is in there to begin with would be a good start.

The third pic, at the top is where the red wire is connected to a half black half white wire, the two wired are just twisted together and wraped in electical tape, i took the old tape off cleaned it up and reconneced and taped the wires together.

The first pic you posted is exactly what you have circled in red, it must be a glare that makes it look like wire

yes he circled it. A bad pic? You definitely have an inline fuse showing

is the other end connected to the same b/w wire??? that's a pretty big wire to be in there as it is...seen wire like that for car audio...I'll have to look at my bike in the morning when I get home...

a possibility is that the previous owner was messing around in there and pulled wires out of the plug and this was his way of fixing it???
