MSD Launch Master 2-Step Install
Fellas, does anyone have any insight with one of these suckers? It is currently getting the best of me! It operates on either a 12v or clutch switch activation. I am trying to get it dialed in for the clutch switch activation and not having much luck. If anyone has thrown one of these on before, your advice would be much appreciated! Thanks. Kevin.
**EDIT**
I guess I should be more specific.. When hooked up as follows:
Coil wiring harness hooked up as per directions (only one way to hook it)
Black ground wire grounded
Blue activation wire UNHOOKED COMPLETELY
I have constant activation on the unit even without the blue wire hooked up to the clutch activation ground.. When I disconnect the black ground from the chassis and hook up the blue activation to the correct (solid black) clutch activation ground wire, the unit acts like it should (powers up only with clutch pulled in gear or in neutral). However as soon as I let the clutch out the unit LED goes out and the bike stalls.
The blue wire is a ground activation. However the unit is active even with the blue wire completely disconnected. I figured the black (steady ground to the unit) was somehow communicating constant power to the blue (ground activation) wire so I completely removed the blue wire from the harness... The unit still was functional 100% of the time but like before, it wouldn't release the rev limiter in gear/stand up/clutch out..

RE: MSD Launch Master 2-Step Install
sounds like possibly a defective unit?
...
??
hmm.. short of just running the ground thru a relay off the clutch switch, maybe theres a jumper inside that needs set for a N.C. or N.O. type switch, sink or source control voltage setup, or something along those lines? maybe it has an inversion function to it?
i've worked with alot of different types of stand-alones and piggybacks on cars and crap like that.. the lastest was an GReddy e-Manage, and that thing had like 20 jumpers in it to edit channel types for push or pull sensors, low or hi voltage signals, all kinds of junk..lol the thing is smart.. your little magic box may be the same? i've never seen one, so i can't tell ya much other than my guesstimation and .002..
other than welcome to KF!!!!
