Default Motorcyle Valve Spring Compressor GSXR600.750,1000,R6

For the 2000' ZX9R, it calls for a 20.5mm collar to be used for the valve removal. I see this valve spring compressor on e-Bay but the closest smaller collar is 19mm which looks to me as it would work. Has anyone had experience with the tool or know if it's a little smaller, if it would work?

Here is the tool I'm questioning.

Thanks!

I am not sure, I bet somebody knows though. On the tool you are looking at, it is a 19mm od and goes to 16.5 mm ID... The next size up, is a 21.5mm to a 23mm.

I would not think it would work, but I am only taking a stab in the dark....

You need to pull the head to use that one. I only used these things on a car never tried a bike so I dont know how difficult it will be, ie: if ya need to drop the motor or if ya able to get to them via lifting the gas tank off. Good luck man.

I know that I would have to drop the engine to remove the valve cylinder head. I was possibly thinking of a winter project. Not sure if I'm going to or not yet, I'll probably just adjust the valves first. I ended up picking up a spare head on e-Bay with low milage, just for the valves, and this is what I was going to use this for. Maybe I'll just wait and buy the Kawasaki recomended OEM tool for about $150 if I ever need to. I just seen these valve compressor's for a good price and thought maybe it would work?

Thanks to all who responded!
