Metallic grind 3rd and 4th gear
I get a metallic grinding sound around 45-50 mph in 3rd and 4th gear.
I had it checked out by the mechanics who did a fuel system clean on my bike. (before it didn't make this noise) They claimed a few screws were in the rong place and the cleaned it and it should be good to go. I had them check it out and they said they heir nothing which made me su****ious to they messed up and don't want to fix something or maybe it didn't grind for them when the drove it for the short distance they probably took it. Any way, any ideas what that could be. The grinding noise isn't constant but rather quick grinds (hands not even on clutch when noise occurs). Other question my tachometer is broken could any one give me a reading of their tachs at 40-45? Early thanks!

Um, sox, we're good, but not THAT good.
Need more info; what bike, what year, how many miles, what "screws," where is noise coming from, WHY did you get a "fuel system clean" and what EXACTLY did "they" do? Are these guys actually employed at a shop, or is this a "friend-of-a-friend-with-a-toolbox" deal? What's the history of the bike? Are you the original owner? Last valve adjustment? Service history? Any wreck/damage history?
We will tell you up front...Kaw Forums assumes no liability for any advice, suggestions, purchases, alterations, repairs, or other actions undertaken by forum posters to their vehicles, under the impression that internet diagnoses is more accurate and effective than in-person diagnoses and repair by trained personnel at an authorized Kawasaki dealer.
(Shhh.....even though we ARE.....)
More details, please. Welcome to the forums...

thank you for the welcoming me but i don't have much more info then that. IT only has about 600 miles on it...the sound issue was there after the fix which was about 300 miles on it. I know some one who use to rebuild destroyed bikes, so i'll have him take a look. If not I'll have to make another post after investigating the bike more.
