Default leaky gaskets

I have a 1982 LTD 1000. I bought it new in 1984 (clue) it sat in the warehouse for 2 yrs.

I am getting some very noticeable oil all about the block separation points.
I have tried re-torq. with no luck. I have cleaned the motor and taken rides and have not been able to detect where the leak(s) are coming from.

Is there any (space age) tricks to stopping the leaks w/out tearing the motor apart? If I must I would start with the (valve cover) first.

I feel what has happened is I bought the bike with (near) dried out (gaskets) and now I reaping the reward for buying a bike that sat for 2 yrs..

Thanks for reading this,
