kfx400 fan not working right
ok, my fan never came on, so I was messing with it today, trying to test the fan motor as some have said.... well I got a paperclip, unbended it, and cut it in half. I unplugged the white plug that plugs into radiator, and put a piece of the paper clup in each side of it, and hen the clips touched, the fan cut on, so it isnt the fan motor, guess teh sensor. so where is the sensor? do I replace a fuse, or have to replace the whole thing?
Is it safe to just leave it hot wired like that, if i tape it up or whatever? but I ride in mud n water sometimes, and not sure what will happen if the fan blows water everywhere

hahaha, does the fan motor use a float switch when you sense water, it cuts out??? lol It does sound like a temp sensor issue not making the fan relay (I do not have a manual on that ride). Good luck and welcome to KF.

ya, just wondering if its safe to have it always on, until i get it fixed at least.... i taped up the sensor and teh plug, which I wired with the paperclip to make it stay on, with electrical tape... the sensors already bad, so I guess it getting wet wont hurt it... I taped the plug up next to where the other wire plugs are, its above the fan fuse box, so should be ok there.
