K&N air filters question....

Default K&N air filters question....

i'm probably retarded for asking this but here goes... so i get my new air filter and i'm lookin all over the box for what kind of oil to use or how much... and i dont see any directions whatsoever soooo. i guess i treat it just like the foam filter????? is this true? or am i going to destroy a brand new $50 filter.... thanks

K&N filter oil...spray evenly from a few inches away until the thing is red...let it dry for an hour or so...install.

It should have been packaged with a vial of oil; like a small tube of threadlocker. Dribble it around on the filter (not a big blob in one spot.) Like zz said--let it sit a bit, then install.

Don't think mine came with oil. I had to buy a spray can of it. I got ripped off!

HAHAHAHA WOW i'm lame. alright so update here from the blondie, its definatly marked clearly on the wraping around the filter "pre oiled from factory ready to install" hahahaha, maybe thats why it didnt say anything on the box.. hey thanks for the advice, now i know what to do when i need to clean it. hahaha

When it's time to clean it. Buy filter oil from the bike shop, can buy a big can for like 6 bucks.

I didn't...it was pre-oiled too. I just felt ripped off if everyone elses came with some oil.

mine didnt come with any "extra" oil... corprate-penny-pinching-punks. hey do you guys use the spray on grease for your chain or the wax? i bought some black magic in a spray can and the only thing magic about it is it seems to get EVERYWHERE no matter how carefull you are....
