well couple of days ago on my way home from work, a nissan centra crossed over the yellow line and hit me head on. I went airbourne and landed 30 ft away from impact. Lucky me wearing my gear and only have Broken Collar Bone, bruised ribs, banged & scraped knee and twisted anckle.... other than that I am fine... Any how the doctors tell me it could have been worse, (could've had head trauma and or internal bleeding and worse of all paralized).

 

Anyway insurance company is willing to give me blue book, but not all the aftermarket parts I put into it, Is that fair?
they are offering me for my Z1000 $5500 and they claim thats with tax title and licence.
I argue what about the 4-1 Muzzy exhaust, and power comander, belly pan, LED lights........etc....

 

Unfortunately many aftermarket parts dont increase the value of a vehicle, but if you have documentation I'd try and get something for them, cant hurt to yell at people every now and then. Or you could just pull any undamaged parts off before they pick it up, and put them on your next ride. Glad to hear your alive and still walking. Get that collar bone healed up and get back on two wheels.

Ouch RickG, as mentioned, glad that you are basically ok. Show your accessory documentation and push it to your insurance company.

Only half? My insurance will cover all of my accessories with proof of purchase.

 

No, scorpion pays for half of the replacement cost one time if you trash it.

 

Many times, short of getting your vehicle totalled, quite a few aftermarket parts don't cost any more than OEM, so just taking the check personally and replacing everything yourself works.

 

That is different and cool at the same time.
