installing clutch
I am planning on installing a new clutch on my ninja 250 today but forgot to order a clutch cover gasket. I wanted to do the project today since sundays are my only free time. My question is would it be okay to use silicone sealer instead of a gasket for the clutch cover or should I just wait and order a gasket? Thanks.

RE: installing clutch
yes.. its ok to use rtv on it. just ensure you have clean, oil-free mating surfaces on both the case and cover when you do it..
torque the cover down to 1/4 spec, give it an hour or so to bond and start to cure, then go to about 80% torque and heat cycle it for a minute, and checkfor leaks..that never failed for me when i get customers that forget their gasket purchase with clutch jobs!!

RE: installing clutch
I'd go to a parts store and get some gasket material and cut my own (which i recently did when I replaced my old clutch cover with a polished one.)
Just give the rtv enough time to cure before you try it. I'd give it a good 8-10 hours, but that's because I hate doing things twice....

Yes, high-temp silicone/rtv will work fine. Just let it cure first. FYI - 06 honda cbr1000 doesnt even use cover gaskets anymore, just sealant. When we forget gaskets at the shop, we just"cream" them ;]
