idiot lights won't go out
I saw this posted last year on the Vulcan 500 forum, but did not get an answer.
I dropped my 06 Vulcan 500 LTD putting it into my shop. It fell over while running, and took several seconds to get it shut off.
It runs and sounds fine, but the oil light and the coolant lights won't go out.
Is this a problem I should be concerned about.
Someone else said they eventually went out when this happened to them, but I worry about it.
It only has 500 miles. I changed the oil at about 250 because it had over a year on it, even though it had very low miles.
Thanks for any help.
Guy.

RE: idiot lights won't go out
I'm having the same problem on my 97 Vulcan 1500 Classic. I didn't drop mine though. I had my battery disconnected for at least 30 minutes and that didn't work. I'm thinking it may be the water temp switch. I hear they are pretty sensitive. I'm taking it to a well referred mechanic next week. I'll repost if you don't have it resolved by then.

RE: idiot lights won't go out
Something else I just thought of, may not be exactly the same. I had a 1992 Grand Am that I had the coolant fluid changed on. The low coolant light came on and stayed on for 2 or 3 days. It may just take time to reset itself.
