Hey guys i have a issue with my brake lights i have a 1992 zx 11and my tail light sockets came out and hit my tire and broke. the problome is the person that had the bike befor me riged the wire harness so when it hit the tire the wires come undon. so i went and bought some 1157 bulbs and put them in and wired it how i thought it went the problome is i can get two tail lights but i cant get the brake light to work. the wire colors in theharness is 2 blue 2 black and 2 red the wires comeing off my sockets are on one a black and a white and the other black are all black but there is 3 wires on that one. fuses are all good i just cant figure out what wires go where can anyone help me out or tell me is i can get a diagram online

 

look on bike bandit for the stock rear signals. it might have a diagram

thats about all your going to get off of bb. on my 06 it has 3 wires coming off the light socket itself, 2 black and one red on one side and 2 black and one yellow on the other, i tied the two blacks togather and went to the black wire on the plug in and the other to the colored wire on the same plug. you should be able to determin what set of wires is going where. may have to remove the tail section. im not familier with your year bike though. post back what you find and where your at with it. good luck

 

Get a multi meter, volt mete, and check for voltage when you activate the brake, and when you have the ignition on. Now you know what wire does what.

 

if you dont want to go all geek on it with a multimeter just start touching wires togather till they smoke [sm=icon_rofl.gif]

Tomorrow at 5:30 at Lakewood high is the first day of practice. I try to make as many practices as I can and go to all the games. Last year was my sons first year and it was fun as hell.
