Default Help please with tire deminsions !

Alright I'm really counting on yall to help me find out wtf will fit on my rear wheel. I need a new rear tire and I'm looking at getting the Shinko 244 because it is a nicely rated dual sport tire. Now, my rear wheel is currently holding a 3.00 x 17" original bridgestone TrailWing tire.
My question is: Can I go up in the tire size (in my case it would be from 3.00 to 4.60) on my stock wheel?
I am in the dark about this whole tire sizing stuff. I would love to grab a nice fat tire compared to what i have now, but if not I will just go with the original 3.00 .

According to this diagram, my rear rim is 1.60 x 17"

Here is the tire I want:

Thanks guise

Pirelli is out of my price range. What I am unsure of is the size 4.6 fitting on my wheel. Will that fit or no??
