I was just wondering what grade of fuel you guys put into your bike. When i first got mine the carbs were all cloged up and i put premium in then i switched to the reguler i noticed a big difference The bike started sputtering again. THen i switched back its completly open agian. NO more sputtering.

I run premium in my bike. But my bike is fuel injected and calls for 91 ron. And since most gas stations only have one hose for the different types of fuel. You actualy don't get a full tank of premium or midor regular. Because there is about a half a gallone of what ever the last person bought before you left in the hose.

i also run 91 and mine is carb. remember that a high compression ratio requires a higher octane.

Please list the ride at hand.

I run gulf 76 stuff when possible in both bikes.

You did clean the carbs after your ordeal?

its an 85 600 ninja. The carbs do need to be rebuilt. but i really dont have the money for it. its my first bike and when i move to NC in a few months im gonna sell this bike and buy me a newer ninja with more power. im not gonna sink a lot of money into it. But i did put some carb cleaner in it that i bought from discount auto. I bought the lucas tune up ina bottle stuff. it helped out a lil bit.

That is cool. Taking the time to disassemble, clean in parts cleaner or diesel and reassemble is not much money though. Set the float heights while it is apart. Just the basics with hardly no money involved.

Gottcha, no worries.

Wouldn't it be a good selling point though if you had the carbs cleaned and sychc'd at the same time? Can't cost that much and still ride. I am not 100% sure that is your issue either. But your scenario leads me to start there.
