Fuel Problems
I'm getting my Vulcan 800 back up after sitting for a while. I have cleaned the carb, cleaned the fuel tank, cleaned out all filters. They were pretty clean to start with. No dried gaskets and o-rings in the carb, all jet nozzles were pristine. There is fuel flow to the carb. I adjusted the throttles, checked the fuel service level, no adjustment needed. Still no gas to the engine. When I open the throttle and put a small amount directly in the intake, the engine will try and crank for a few seconds. Any suggestions on what else to check?

Maybe a dumb question: are you sure it's fuel delivery? I'm wondering about spark. if you have fuel flow to the carb, and the float(s) are within spec, it's either spark or air flow. The Three Amigos...one of them is out of sync.
No gas to the engine....hmmmm, but you have fuel flow to the carb? Something isn't making sense.
Welcome to the forums. We love this troubleshooting stuff; at least I do. Keep us posted.

JeffZX9,
I had previously checked the spark plugs and ignition coils. Both coils indicated with in the pickup coil inspection standard of 380-570 ohms. Additionally, I placed the coil lead with a ground to chassis and was getting a good arch. The last series of starts were with the air filter off where i could put some gas in the intake. The engine would fire for a few seconds until the gas i had put in the intake had been used.

Prom,
I had previously pulled the carburetor and checked all of the diaphrams. There were no worn or dried gaskets and I saw no gel inside the unit. After reassembly, I filled the bowl IAW the service fuel level check. That is the only bowl in the manual that is discussed. When I manually move the vacuum piston, it does not feel like it has any fuel in it (no resistance). I do not have a procedure in the manufacture's book that has the procedure to adjust the jets and screws. I did not change thier settings but will look for a procedure to check these.
