Default Front End Clicking Noice

I have a 2003 ZX6R (636) my bike is making a interesting clicking sounds. it is coming from the front end either the brakes or the forks. and it only happens when i put pressure on the brakes. if I come to a quick stop or make it so that my forks compress when brakes thats when it happens. does anyone know what this is? My forks are clean and look great so i dont know if i need new ones. any help would be great thanks. There is also a clicking noise when my bike is just sitting not running or anything it will make the same click. I recently replaced my chain and both sprockets so i know its not that. it is coming from up front.

My 500 does that clunking noise under hard braking. It was the cables smacking against the bodywork. Check clearances and also verify that the steering head bearings are torqued properly. Loose bearings will also make a clunking noise in a hard transition. Good luck on the find.

Make sure your pads are seated in the calipers properly, too. If it's a "crunchy" sort of sound, probably the head bearings^ or even the axle. If it's a "click, click, click" it's something in your brakes or possibly fender rubbing.
Let us know.

Wait a minute; same click when just sitting and NOT runnning??? Is it cooling off? (i.e. metal expansion/contraction) or an "electronic" kind of relay noise?

Or a fuel vent? Try popping the gas tank open and see if the noise stops when its not running. As for the noise when its running, drilled rotors tend to make an interesting sound when used. If you are noticing the sound only when the brakes are applied and not when coasting I would check around for clearances with the forks compressed, then check brake pads and rotors for wear, if all checks out it could be normal for the ride.

Ya when I just get off the bike and it is cooling down it makes the same noise. but i did check and it is not coming from the engine and it is not an electronic clicking. i dont know how to explain it. i know it is somewhere up front. this weekend i am going to go thru it and check the brakes and everything and see what i can find out.
