Fender extensions
Ok first of all I did a search and found nothing, so here goes. I just bought the 2006 KLX 250S Dual Sport, and was wondering if anyone has made they're own fender extensions? The fender is a little short both ways, and I am getting water/dirt spray over the fender and up onto the light. Now I know some of you die hard mudders are going to be all like, mud? cool, but I am just ridding mine around town right now, and the wet road sand and water from when they sanded the roads earlier this week is starting to climb over the top of the fender and cover the light. And I also know that bikes get dirty, and this is not what I am talking about. I thought of getting an 1/8 thick truck mudflap and cutting and shaping it to fit the fender and installing it with washered rivets, or some other fashion, or perhaps some 3M auto tape, some of that stuff is pretty good. The window extensions on my Dodge Ram are still hanging on after 3 years. any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

RE: Fender extensions
Since my post, I have made a couple of templates from the cardboard backing of a notebook tablet, and they actuall don't look bad at all. Looks like about 4 inches on the front and 3 on the bottom of the fender, I am heading down to pick up a piece of material and I will try and post pictures after the project. Since the bike is green and black I think the black extensions will look ok.

RE: Fender extensions
Well here is the finished project. I am really happy with it. I used 3M auto tape to hold them on, but decided to add the hardware just in case.

RE: Fender extensions
Here is a picture of the fasteners that I used. I didn't want to use rivets since they usually leave sharp edges, and also with this hardware you can remove it easier.
