Default Exhaust questions??

I have a zx10 2004 and i was woundering what would happen if i were to take the exhaust of the bike and run it with nothing there would i mess the motor up or could it take it??? I know this might be a dumb question but i was still woundering about it. If it would mess the motor up what slip on would anyone sugest to use for nice sound and not lose any power?

hahaha my dad was trying to talk me into taking the slip on off my bike and run it, but i never did. i do you know you will lose back pressure and it will probally be weaker off the line.

It will definitely change your back pressure, but I would think it would be no different then with a car. When I dropped the 350 in my camaro we had to run it at 2000 rpms for a good 5 minutes for the cam break in. Funny thing is, it was all done with open headers, so it was LOUD AS HELL, but awesome at the same time. I run a D&D exhaust and it supposedly does fairly well with the horsepower and in my opinion gives it a great sound.

The cost of slip ons are not cheap. But they do help and a dyno tune is not manditory. However any fine tune is nice to have done with an a/f device since the backpressure has been altered for that timing.
