So I haven't been on here in a while.
I took the bike to a shop so I can get it a grade of it's health.
Turns out the bike didn't even have an air filter when I purchased it.

So I speculate that's what was causing the lunging on turnover.
I'm going to let them clean the carbs, and if I can I'm going to replace the fork seals.
Hopefully that's all it needs to get basic mechanically restored. So I can learn on it.

This freakishly warm weather has me dying to start learning and go sign up for the MSF course.

A missing air filter won't affect anything. The lunging on turnover is the clutch plates sticking.

So they told me the bike is ready today except that there is a ticking when it's running.
They think the valves might need adjusting. Hopefully it won't put me over budget.

I ran a search on google for common valve adjust costs. Fingers crossed

The valves probably do need adjustment. Easy enough to check. Tight valves will cause hard starts on these rides. The CCT (cam chain tensioner) is also a known issue with kawi.

Well I did have the ZX6 running and it still ran but the lights weren't working.

I tried to tackle the wiring myself. Do I need to unistall the engine to get the rest of the harness out or just use a little more muscle. Since the lights weren't working I decided it would be a good time to get the other lights so I can install my meter assembly and know how fast I'm going or not. I think I can do this myself, but if I need to do stuff with the engine I need to go to my mechanic again.

Here's one of my videos and you can go to my channel to watch the rest of what little riding I got to do.

The wind blast was killing me. But at 1:27 you must have a vid glitch. Felt like I was on my putt putt when goosed. lol

the ride sounded clean, the same ol first and second gear clunking. I did not watch the full vid though.
