Default Engine Start Probs

I'm pretty sure the bike won't start right now because of the Battery, But:

While trying to start the bike, the bike keeps moving forward. Even though I have the clutch lever pulled in.

I think either the clutch(lever is not allowing the clutch) to fully disengage, and it hasn't gone into neutral lately.

Don't know what else to say to describe my dilema.

Sounds like the clutch plates are not releasing, you need to check to see how far the lever is pulling at the case. You might need to pull the cable at the case and work the lever with a pair of pliers till it releases. Beyond that, it might need the clutch cover pulled to see what's happening in there. Welcome to the forums.

Like Deej said^ cable adjusted properly? If the cable has stretched, it may not be pulling the lever on the case far enough to disengage the clutch pack.

Will check with daylight. Hopefully it's that easy. Hopefully I can order a Haynes or something manual for it.

I would get the factory manual only. Wasn't this a hydraulic clutch for this ride? If so, the sleeve sticks with oxidation without the proper maintenance of fluid change. Similar to the braking system. Hygroscopic, so rust and oxygen in the system makes things stick/or not work properly. (spongy and cannot operate the piston fully)

I have my manual in favorites but it doesn't go into great detail about many of the parts/probs. I'd love to get the original manual too.

I don't think it's the clutch cable that's the culprit, at least no solely.

Here's the link for the 1991 Kaw ZX6(D) User Manual KAWASAKI NINJA ZX-6 1991 - User guide KAWASAKI NINJA ZX-6 1991

An 11 page intro to the manual did not help.

Er....um....need to determine whether it's hydraulic or cable.
Eljan, is there a fluid reservoir at the lever? I don't see one in your bike pic, but it may be integrated into the lever bracket.
