Default electrical probs

Hello All, awesome site you've got here and was wondering if someone could help me out. I have a 1982 gpz1100 when i go to start it clicks.
new battery but here's the thing it doesn't have the sensor even though it was for my bike.everything i could find said i have to bypass the sensor with the new battery because they don't make them anymore with sensors and everything Ive found and tried doesn't work, any thoughts on how to bypass it? jumped the starter so i know its not that. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Short out the two big terminals on the starter relay. If the starter then turns, you need a new relay.

i guess there's a sensor for the battery that you cant use with the newer sealed batteries and now Ive got a flashing light that's trying to drive me insane. no big deal just trying to bypass it. and like i said its not the starter because i jumped it, so is it most likely the relay or should i be checking anything else? plus all Ive found are universal starter relays anybody know of a good one or have a favorite universal? anything specific i should know about them before purchasing one? thanks for the responses and all the help

thank you everyone it was the relay, replaced that and it turned right over. next question is does anyone know the specs for the fuel pump from a 81-82 gpz1100? going to just replace it with a universal but want to make sure to get one that's just right for pressure and gph

right on, same thing happens with the zx7's then. Congrats on the fix.

Your manual will say how much volume and pressure is needed on that fuel pump. You found a universal pump? Got a link?

didn't find one for the bike, I'm just going to match a universal to the specs of the original pump
