Default electrical problem

so I jumped the battery on my bike wron and burnt out a wire... Now I need help in finding out which wire harness I ned to replace. The wire harness sits on the right side of the bike under the main seat and is clear... When the wire burnt the bikes fi light came on and the bike wouldn't start... I was also wondering if I could just splice the wire that burnt... Any ideas???

Harness's can be tricky. If the bike is an 05 model it should be under warranty.I would let Kaw work on it.I deffinitly would NOT splice that wire because there may be another problem and you could do more harm than good.

don't mention anything about jumping the bike and take it to the dealer. if its not underwarrenty, tell them you jumped it and they will probably know exactly what to replace costing you only one arm and part of a leg.

Question: Why does an 05 need jumped? Was something left on?

yeah my girlfriend wanted to show her friend the integrated tailight on the bike, so he could see if he would like it on his bike, and she left the key in the ignition... Does anybody know what harness it is, so I could order the part... I have experience in electrical work so I'm sure I could replace the harness myself.

yup, must be..... Look on www.bikebandit.com and they have full schematics of all the wiring, and parts. You should be able to narrow down the wiring harness there...
