i am trying to find out what type of metal the frame is made of on my 96 zx6. does anyone know exactly?

i know that sounds pretty stupid so i understand your sarcasm. i was told a couple different things by a welder so i figured i would ask here. by chance is there anywhere i can find out for sure?

i really do appreciate the help. i figured that question would get a few strange looks. i'm not to farmiliar with bikes being that this is my first but i am not a complete idiot either. i was just going by what someone told me. i honestly gave him the same thing when he asked if i knew what the frame was made of so the ribbing i really understand.
