i have a1994 kawi zx900R i mest up my bike wont start i dont know if it my starter clutch i know that i f*** my clutch i took it for repair thaey told my that i have to rebuild my engine do i realy need too? when i try to start it it wont it sounds like if it want to start my starter turns

 

hmm trying to read between the lines. So you f'd the clutch up. A given from you. So where does the techs at your favorite shop recommend rebuilding the engine because of a f'd up clutch?

if the starter is just freewheeling when the buttons pushed, then you're just looking at the "starter one-way clutch assembly" as its usually referred to. its rebuildable and replaceable without having to tear the whole motor apart. i call those places stealerships for a reason!

check the starter tho for damaged teeth on its shaft, check the entire perimeter for missing teeth on the clutch assy. and you should only be able to spin it in one direction. that clutch is composed from hunderds of little spring loaded cams that lock in one direction and freewheel in the other..thats what lets you be able to have a direct-drive starter that doesn't relay on a bendix-style starter, like on a car. those clutches aren't cheap tho. its rare for them to go... i'd be looking at alot of things into why it failed, if it did.

and is your actual driveline clutch F'ed as well? i can't quite tell what all you got goin on with that beast...

Um,...welcome to the forums. I'm sure we can probably get your bike back in some kind of shape; hopefully running. Your post is a little cryptic. Can you give us a step by step of what happens after you turn on the key? Step-by-step, what do you do, and what happens? Any noises? Lights? Nothing?
