Dies when I put it in gear.
I have a 02 ZR7s that when I start it, it runs good, but when I put it in gear it will die. Is there a neutral switch or something that is killing it the same as you can't start it when it is not in neutral? I'm not sure where to start. It just started doing this. Thanks

There very likely IS a switch that will kill the engine when put in gear with the side stand down. If the bike stalls when put in gear with the side stand up, check to make sure this switch is't sticking. I had that on my KLX so I took the switch off. I'm not so sure I'd do that with my Zephyr though. It is hard to forget the big honking stand is down on a dual sport, but far more easy to forget on a regular streetbike. If it is sticking spray it down with some WD-40 or the like to free it up, maybe replace it.
I know this can be a problem, I had it once when riding a used Honda CM400A. It kept shutting off when I put it in gear. Finally figured out the switch was stuck.

ok, I was wrong. Even if the bike is in gear on a start, a clutch pull even while on the side stand during start up will not work. But as mentioned above by klx, there is a side stand switch and once idling, if the bike is placed into gear, the bike will shut down if the side stand is still down.
edit: I had to try it out on the 01 zr7s I was working on. Since I am not normally known to put a ride into gear while on the sidestand. Good catch klx
