CVK pressure limitations?
well, some of yas know about my lil plans to boost the 'ol 7-fiddy. i have come up with multiple designs now for the intake, being that i will do a "blow-thru" system, thet entails introducing the boost to the carbs. the blow-thru has many attributes that the old skool "suck-thru" system can't deliver.
anyway, i was wondering if anyone knew how much pressure the mikuni CVKs can handle before they loose fuel thru the o-rings and seals.
i won't be running anthing over 15 psi after the build-up and break-in. and that will probably only be once on the dyno.
the carbs are built to take some pressure from the ram-air system, but that equates to .7psi @200mph. not exactly reasonable speed or high presure.
i believe the carbs can handle the boost (5-12psi, on a variable boost setup), but i cant decide whether i want to do a log manifold now, or build a box that the carbs will be encompassed in. this will permit equal pressure everywhere, and there will be no pressure differential between ambient and induced air in this setup. i sent a message to rb racing but don't know if they will respond or even get it.
this computer burns coal and is part abacus.
anyway, i could use some info cuz i love instant gratification. minkuni doen't have any info. i have like, 8 CVKs laying around the shop, but am too lazy to experiment, and blow one up for testings sake.
i dunno. maybe i'll have to put better o-rings in the carbs if i run the log-type manifold?
