Default Cowling Switch

Is it possible to switch out the cowling on my 97 zx6r with the cowling from a newer zx6r(2000-2007)? I checked kawi's fiche and the part numbers are the same, but so are cowlings on the zx14's. So I'm not sure if it really will fit up or not anybody have any experience here?

The part #'s you're looking atis probablyKawasaki's base number for their partsnumbering system. I don't know much about the ZX6R's, but since the plastics are different through out the years, I doubt the mounts willstay thesame. (damn engineers!lol)

I know the mounting hardware will be different, but I wonder if the fairings will fit up the same? I seen a 98 switched out for a 02 and all that was done was mounting brackets and gauge cluster switches.
