Chain maintenance Diesel Oil or Kerosine?

Hi there. I use kerosene to clean my chain, always have done, like diesel, it doesn't cause the o-rings to swell and dislodge. I use the kerosene from my central heating oil tank which holds 1200ltrs, I just dunk a tin can in and wash the chain down, kerosene evaporates off better than diesel, then I re-wax

That is the difference along with availability. Not sure on the low sulfur diesel now.

I've used kerosene for years; works just dandy. I think the important thing is to keep your chain clean, whatever you use. Just give it a wipedown after cleaning with a quality lube and you'll be fine.
